SPIRITUAL INTEGRATION

As mentioned in the Individual Therapy Section, your goals and values determine the approaches we will use in treatment. Many people consider themselves to be spiritual or religious. Beliefs and values are an important part of who we are as individuals and our interactions with others. Research has shown that most people would like to address their religious beliefs during therapy and recognize a connection between their religious beliefs and emotional health. In addition, multiple studies show that integration of a person’s religious beliefs into therapy improves psychological health and spiritual well-being. I want people to know that therapy is a safe place to express your faith.

Christians who are actively engaged in their faith traditions and practices often want their beliefs to be more specifically incorporated into their therapy. Christian therapy facilitates this integration. Christian therapy is about engaging with your personal Christian beliefs, not preaching and learning theology.  We work with your beliefs at your level of commitment.
